Why do planet lists change by location?
Rise and set times shift with longitude, and maximum altitude depends on latitude. A planet that is high in Guyana may skim the horizon from farther north or south.
Why is a planet “up” but marked too bright?
The planet can be above the horizon while the Sun is still up or in bright twilight. Naked-eye spotting needs a darker sky, the tool flags daytime and twilight windows so you do not wait outside for an invisible target.
What is the ideal viewing time?
It is usually when the planet is highest during a useful dark or twilight window. Select the planet to clock the sky sim to that moment and read the facing direction and altitude.
